CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS.
On Sunday 14th December we are inviting you to join us at Coventry Airport when we will be doing floodlit engine runs for several of our aircraft, including at least one jet. This is a very rare opportunity to capture images of spinning propellers and hot exhausts in a way not many members of the public get to see.
We will try to ensure as many interesting angles for your images as we can and will also endeavour to give you the shots that show off the characteristics of the particular aircraft starts; for example, the hot blue exhausts of the DC6. If you have a tripod, make sure you bring it for those long exposures.
Obviously, we cannot guarantee the weather, but we hope it will be dry at least. You won’t hear us asking for mist and fog very often, but a little bit would be nice on this occasion! Make sure you wrap up warm. As the old saying goes, “there’s no such thing as inclement weather; just unsuitable clothing!”
For those of you not familiar with our set-up, you need to be at the West entrance to the airport. This is situated off Stoneleigh Road, Bagington, just past The Oak Pub (or just before if you are coming from the other direction!). The precise location is 52˚ 21’ 56.83” N, 1˚ 29’ 31.07” W.
We will be opening the gates at 16:00 and finishing about 19:00. There will be hot food and drinks available to purchase as well as our range of Merchandise for those last minute Christmas Presents.
Come along and help us celebrate the end of an amazing year with this rare opportunity to see our aeroplanes in an altogether different light. The Classic Flight would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our enthusiasts and wish you and your families and friends a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you again in the New Year when we can promise a fascinating programme of events. Watch this space for news of those!
We still have tickets available for this event, so please turn up on Sunday and pay at the gate. We will not turn anyone away as there is plenty of space for everyone.
